July 4th, or, Independence Day

Today is July 4th, when America got its independence. Fireworks will fill the sky tonight. My family is doing some on-ground-ish ones, and the only airborne ones will be Roman Candles--nothing much. We'll leave the "Air Show" to the rest of the folks.

What my family always does is do normal stuff until it is still light but is after dinner. We set off some little animal ones and stuff, like turtles and dragons and race cars and "black snakes"--the ones where you light the black cylinder things and they turn into growing black stuff. Then there are flashing strobe lights and lotus flowers and mini cones and Tazmanian Devils. And then, there are medium ones, Killer Bees and parachutes and stuff. Finally it's dark. There's the big cone, Popcorn Fountain, and the grand finale--Electromagnetic Pulse.

It's darker. Stars can be seen in the sky. The streetlamps are turned on. It's past my bedtime, but oh well. Me and my bro get into our pajamas and there's popcorn and Gatorade and blankets while we sit on the deck waiting for the Grand Show. Then it starts. It goes on and on, but we're amazed, not bored in the least. When it dies down we go to bed. It's always like that, every year. And I love it. Who doesn't?

I can't wait for the evening, after dinner. Fireworks are amazing. It may be a little different this year, but we're going to try to make it like the other years, a holiday that makes itself suitable for all ages and never bores anybody.

Well, I'm going to go watch Record-Breaker bro play Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Black Snakes, strobe lights, ground bloom flowers, tortoises, frogs, dragons, tanks (those last four were supposed to WORK, by the way, but didn't), and Roman Candles, the Popcorn Fountain, and Electromagnetic Pulse (haha, a few somebodys sitting in a car had to wait five minutes for THAT one!). The "Air Show" "Officially Started" while we were finishing up our Grand Finales. An hour out there and it died down, but the people who lived behind us set off the biggest ones!!!!! LOL they never do that. I thought it was so cool, these little sparks just went up and the ka BOOOOOOOOM! It was SO cool.
